The ArrowBio Process is a flexible system that can easily be modified to meet specific customer requirements.

The introduction of the Animal By-Products Regulations in the UK and Eire requires soil improvers which have been derived from catering waste to have been heat-treated to remove pathogens.

The EU Animal By-Products Regulation permits the use of composting and biogas treatments for catering waste and Category 3 Animal By-Products. The ArrowBio Process will be compliant with the ABPR (SI 2003/1482) through a pasteurisation phase after digestion. In this phase the digestate (soil improver) will be heated to a temperature of 70C for one hour. The particle size of the digestate will not exceed 12mm.

In the event of mixed feedstocks being treated by the ArrowBio system all products would be processed in a manner meeting the ABPR requirements and would be addressed in the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) Plan.

In addition a secondary barrier as outlined by Defra will be put in place. Digestate will be stored for a minimum of 18 days on site.
